Every year, the SCAD Sand Arts Festival transforms Tybee Island’s idyllic North Beach into a surreal landscape dotted with elaborate castles and wild creatures cast by the imaginations and creative skills of SCAD students.SCAD buses depart for the festival from Dyson, Oglethorpe, Turner houses and W at The Hive, 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Buses will depart North Beach at 4:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. to return to the residence halls. For more information on how to participate, click here.

 SCAD Museum of Art “Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Pit #4, #9, #7” is a site-specific commissioned drawing by Los Angeles-based artist Ingrid Calame. Acclaimed for her painterly interpretations of the often disregarded markings left by passersby on floors, sidewalks and roadways, Calame has repeatedly found inspiration in the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the site from which this piece is sourced.  Presented as part of the 2013 deFINE ART program, this exhibition is free with SCAD Museum of Art admission.
